Abstract (EN)

While there are various dynamics that govern the foreign policies of states, the historical period can be shaped by various variables, such as geography, the leader's character structure, demographic traits, and historical awareness as a field of life. We believe that the religious factor influencing Tsarist Russia, the ideology of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics that constitutes itself, and the geopolitical dynamics in the Russian Federation constitute the basis of the state's foreign policy. The geopolitical perspective on the foreign policy of modern-day Russia dates not only to the aftermath of 1991, but to the period of dispersed Russian masterminds. The main idea behind this idea stems from the fact that we think Russian foreign policy is in a building that builds upon accumulation. The trauma of losing its territory and sovereignty over these territories during the years of rule of the Golden Horde, the destruction suffered by two major Russian states, such as Tsarist Russia and the USSR, was, of course, enrolled in the policy memory of the Russian Federation. Although we have addressed the geopolitical impact of Russian foreign policy within the Federation and Vladimir Putin specialty, the currents of thought which had an impact in the XIX. and XX. centuries have in fact had significant implications for the establishment of geopolitical thought. In the XIX century, the Zapadniks and the Slavyanophiles who were positioned opposite them, and in the XX century the Westerners and Eurasians depicted the intellectual side of the geopolitical axis conflict in Russian foreign policy. Does Russia belong to Western culture? Is it part of Eastern culture? Or is the essence of Russian existence spread to Eurasian soil? The Eurasian sentiment, which we often hear with Vladimir Putin in present-day Russia, helps us explain Russia's geopolitical sphere of interest. The Russian Federation, which has the largest surface area in the world, shares land borders with 14 countries: Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Kazakhstan, North Korea, Latvia, Mongolia, Norway, Ukraine, and also Lithuania and Poland, which borders Kaliningrad. At the same time, the Sea of Ohotsk and Japan share a maritime border with the Bering Strait and the United States and the Black Sea with Turkey. Its geographical boundaries help to shape the state structure of the Russian Federation in its own form, both internal and external. There have been investments in military spending to protect and even expand the geopolitical areas, which we treat as major borders on the world and, more than that, as spheres of influence. The natural resources offered by geography are to be invested in the energy sector, with the profit being directed towards maintaining stability in domestic and foreign policy. The neighbors and the energy sector, which we take in geopolitical values, determine Russia's place in global politics. Our geopolitical approach to Russian foreign policy, exemplified by historical and current events, will help us to embody the influence of geography on the political process.
