Wittgenstein's thoughts on colors

Wittgenstein is one of the most important philosophers who left his mark on the 20th century with his thoughts divided into two periods as early and late periods. His views have been influential in fields such as philosophy of language, logic, philosophy of mathematics, philosophy of mind, ethics, philosophy of religion, and aesthetics. In our study, first of all, Wittgenstein's early and late thoughts are discussed, then the views and theories put forward about colors in the history of philosophy and science are examined. Then, the ideas that Wittgenstein put forward about colors in his early and late periods were examined. Afterwards, it has been tried to show with examples that Wittgenstein's idea that colors can be explained by showing them, while expressing his views on colors, cannot help us in understanding situations such as color illusion, reverse spectrum and color blindness. In the conclusion part of our study, a general evaluation was made about Wittgenstein's views on colors and the findings in the thesis were included.
