A research on the relationship between political participation and insult on the X platform

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between political participation in X platform and the use of insults. In this study, it was claimed that there is a relationship between the level of political participation and the use of insults, and hypotheses were formed in this direction. In the study, the relationship between the concepts of political participation, X platform and insult is explained. In the study, a survey was conducted with 169 people who use X between the ages of 18-65. The survey includes questions from the Political Participation Scale on Twitter, prepared by Şakir Güler and Murat Sezgin, and survey questions designed to determine users' tendency to use insults and their attitudes towards insults. The survey findings were analyzed with the SPSS 26.0 analysis program. Chi-Square, ANOVA and Kruskall-Wallis methods were used as analysis methods. As a result of the analysis, a significant relationship was determined between the total political participation level and all sub-dimensions (political expression dimension, policy following dimension, local government and aid dimension, propaganda, march and strike dimension and participation in political discussions dimension) in X with the frequency of individuals' use of insults in X.
