Abstract (EN)
In The XVth And XVHth Centuries, Travels Of The Western Travellers To Turkestan And Volga Basin Keywords: Traveller, travels, trade, trade roads. After the break-up of the Golden Horde due to Temur's blows, the political crises came into being and the explorations of ocean roads to get China and India with the Geographical Explorations in early Modern Period, caused to entry of Volga-Caspian basin, Crimea and Turkestan which are on the ancient trade roads to regression. In spite of the Geographical Explorations and the exploration of the ocean's roads, ancient land trade did not lose its importance. Itlaian Republics, Germany and Great Britain who were the rivals of the ruler of the new ocean roads, such as Portugal, Spain, and Holland, to be able to access to the richness of the East, sent their merchantile missions to Russia, Iran and Turkestan Khanates through Arhangelsk port, Kaffa and Azak seaports in the north of the Black Sea. After the collapse of the Golden Horde, Sibir, Kazan, Astrahan and Crimea Khanates came into being. Having used the advantageous disunion and the political vacuum, their weakness in terms of a devoloping Russia, the Ottoman-Safavid struggle on the Caucasus and Iran, on the Crimean territory, entity fray of the Venetians and Genovians with khans, and the political disorder, caused to the failure of the merchantile enterprises. The reports remained behind the merchantal missions permitted to leave historical data which belonged to Turkish communities' cultural, social and economic life.
