Abstract (EN)

The Art Deco style, which emerged in the 1920s and was influential in Europe and America until the mid- 40s, was a style that spread throughout the world, especially between the First and Second World War. The Art Deco style, which took its name from the Exposition Internationale Des Arts Décoratifs at Industries Moderns exhibition(International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts held in France in 1925, bears traces from art movements such as Art Nouveau, Futurism, Cubism, Constructivism, De Stijl and Bauhaus. Additionally Art Deco ,which also inspired by the cultures of Ancient Egypt, Aztec and Mexico, affected architecture, interior design, furniture, fine arts, textiles and fashion area. The aim of thesis is, which subject is "The Reflections Of Art Deco Style On Textile Designs In The XXI. Century Perspective And New Suggestions", to determine the characteristics of Art Deco textiles by considering the effects of Art Deco style on furniture and architecture in the frame formed by the visual elements of Art Deco style and the social conditions of the period and to reveal the reflections of Art Deco textile designs in today's interior. In light of the information obtained, a collection of 15 original interior textile designs of Art Deco style was prepared in XXI.century perspective. The absence of design suggestions for interior textiles in the thesis studies made in previous years makes the applications in this subject even more important.
