Die reflexionen der methoden des fremdsprachenunterrichts in den Deutsch als fremdsprache lehrbüchern der Türkei

Looking at the history of foreign language teaching, one can see that new methods have been developed constantly with different factors playing a decisive role. The aim of this study is to establish and describe the extent to which the methods of German language teaching in foreign language instruction manuals were used in Turkey. For the analysis of the textbook, textbooks were selected which were published in "Tebliğler Dergisi" with the permission of the Ministry of National Education (MEB). These selected textbooks are "Almanca Ders Kitabı II from 1940, Almanca Ders Kitabı III from 1940, Almanca Ders Kitabı I from 1957, Almanca Ders Kitabı from 1963, texts and situations I from 1974 and Texts and situations II from the year 2006. The focus of the analysis was on the following methods: the grammar-translation method, the direct method, the audiolingual and audiovisual method, the mediating method, the communicative method and the cultural approach. The methods were constructed in a chronological order. After brief introductory texts of the historical developments of the respective methods, the characteristics, classical forms of practice, objectives and methodological principles were listed.
