Özet (EN)

Nations? need of a language for communication increases the demand for learning a foreign language . The reflection of this is the gradually rising interest in learning our mother tongue Turkish. Although there are a great number of books, dictinaries, students? books and workbooks, listening cassettes and visual aids to teach a European language, the number of materials to teach Turkish as a foreign language is limited. The aim of Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language department at the Institute of Educational Sciences, founded in 2004 at Dokuz Eylul University, is to make up for the deficiency in this realm, to provide sources and to teach our mother tongue to foreigners and to the third generation of Turkish people living abroad. The designed objective of this study is furnishing the department of Turkish as a Foreign Language with a variety of sources. This study has been devised to ?teach Present Continuous Tense through reading texts?. In this study, guidelines and texts for teachers as well as activities for different levels that will contribute to practising the tense are used to teach Present Continuous Tense. In order to teach Present Continuous tense which is used to express the moment of speaking, present tense and future tense, various materials have been developed
