Abstract (EN)
Woven carpets, one of the most important handicrafts of our country, have a language describing the region and weaver. Motifs, weaver's emotion, culture, meticulousness, calmness, hastiness and so on. tells many emotions and subjects. This art is replaced by machine carpets over time and the value given decreases. The motifs are replaced by patterns in new design carpets and lose interest. In order to avoid the loss and re-evaluation of these very valuable carpet motifs, this study examines how the motifs can be used as decoration elements in interior designs. The basic elements of decoration are motifs, patterns and lines. The elements may be used alone or in a composition, they may be abstract or concrete. Concrete elements are depictions of human, animal, plant or inanimate substances, or shapes inspired by such natural objects. Abstract elements are mostly geometric shapes or forms that do not identify. In this study, the motifs on Yahyalı carpets were examined and applied in order to keep the motifs on the carpets from the art of ornamentation and handicrafts which are an important part of our cultural heritage. These works, which are formed by embroidering geometric motifs and floral motifs on different surfaces, are intended to serve as an example to the contemporary architecture and decoration areas and the vineyards blended with the cultural works of our past.
