Abstract (EN)

Manuscript libraries possess an exceptionally rich collection of manuscript anthologies. These anthologies, which serve as important sources for understanding the formation and development of Classical Turkish Literature, are particularly noteworthy for reflecting the literary tastes of the era, the circulation of poetry, and the interactions among poets. Although a significant increase in the number of academic studies on anthologies has been observed in recent years, research in this field has not yet reached the desired level. The fact that existing studies are largely conducted through individual efforts and exhibit a fragmented approach in terms of methodology makes it difficult to establish a common terminology and systematic approach in anthology research. Aimed at addressing this gap, the Systematic Classification of Magazines Project (MESTAP) makes significant contributions to magazine studies by establishing a standardized method based on the form, content, and functional characteristics of magazines. By creating a comprehensive framework that enables comparisons across different studies, MESTAP fills a significant gap in this field. The subject of this study is a collection of poems cataloged as Y 0820 at the Yapı Kredi Sermet Çifter Library. Consisting of 52 folios and apparently missing its opening section, the work generally presents a neat and legible appearance. According to library records, the work measures 200 × 132 mm. Although the exact date of its compilation is unknown, the fact that the poets included date from the 15th and 16th centuries suggests that the anthology may have been compiled as early as the 16th century. However, the "1229" entry on folio 53a and the change in script beginning on folio 48 indicate that additions were made to the manuscript in later centuries. The study first focuses on the place and importance of anthologies in classical Turkish literature, followed by general information about the work under examination. In the second section, a transcribed text of the work has been prepared, and in the third section, the anthology has been systematically classified according to MESTAP criteria. The anthology contains poems by a large number of poets, with a total of 54 different poets identified. Among these poets, Camiʿî (52 poems), Necâtî (32 poems), and Mesîhî (19 poems) are the most frequently represented in the anthology. One of the most striking aspects of the anthology under examination is that it includes both poems not found in the Dîvâns of well-known poets and verses by poets whose identities cannot be definitively determined. This demonstrates that the work is not merely a compilation that repeats the existing literary corpus; it is also an important source containing texts from classical Turkish literature that have not yet been brought to light. This study aims to introduce the aforementioned anthology to the academic community and to contribute to the aesthetic and cultural heritage of classical Turkish literature through the texts it contains.
