Effect of foliar salicylic acid application on growth and nutrient uptake of pepper plants grown at different water levels

Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effects of foliar salicylic acid (SA) applications on pepper plants under greenhouse conditions on drought (YSS 100%, YSS 70%, YSS 50%), tolerance level to stress, growth and nutrient uptake were investigated. Drought stress applications started to the plant 17 days after planting the seedlings, and foliar SA (0, 0.25 0.50 1.0 mM) applications were made on the 14th and 26th days of the experiment. Drought practices significantly reduced green part and root dry matter production. Drought application significantly increased the microelement contents under the YSS 50% condition. Salicylic acid application increased green part dry matter production, plant height and chlorophyll concentration content under control conditions. According to the results obtained, it was determined that foliar salicylic acid applications of pepper plants under drought stress (especially YSS 50%) could play an important role in the plant's uptake of macro and micro nutrients. At the same time, green part nutrient concentrations of pepper plants grown at 70% YSS and 100% YSS water levels were similar.
