Abstract (EN)
Earthquake, which is the most common and effective natural disaster today, has many effects in the field of interior architecture as well as in many different fields. There are many dangers and risks that non-structural elements, which are in the direct field of interest of the interior architecture discipline, may pose in an earthquake. The study was carried out within the scope of the TÜBİTAK project numbered 127K927 titled "Improving the Knowledge and Awareness of Interior Architecture Students with a Measurable Method and Training Program for the Risks and Hazards Caused by Non-Structural Elements in the Earthquake Process", and the project of the students' interior architecture projects was used by using the uniçDEF software for earthquake risk. Both the risk score and the reports of student projects were obtained. Thus, the relationship between the demographic characteristics of the students, their experience and knowledge about earthquakes, and the project risk score was examined. For this purpose, quantitative and qualitative data analyzes were used in the method of the study. "Project Risk Score" data obtained as a result of evaluations of student projects; Demographic information was correlated with achievement test results and analyzed using dependent and independent samples (groups) t-test, correlation and/or ANOVA. Additionally, an interview was conducted to obtain in-depth student opinions. The data obtained was subjected to content analysis. Thus, both the knowledge, awareness and success level of the students were revealed in the training given within the scope of the "Non-structural Elements in Interior Space during Earthquake Process" course at Akdeniz University.
