Abstract (EN)

This research was conducted between November 2017 and January 2018 in an elementary school in Kocasinan district of Kayseri. In the 4th Grade Human Rights, Citizenship and Democracy course, "Rights, Freedom and Responsibility - Justice and Equality" unit was researched on creative drama method. Thus, it is aimed to determine whether the creative drama method is effective in teaching 4th grade Human Rights, Citizenship and Democracy course and the effect of creative drama method on the achievement of the students in this course. In the research, quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test control group, one of the quantitative research methods, was used. In the experimental group, while teaching was carried out with lesson plans prepared with creative drama method, the students in the control group were taught with the methods and techniques prescribed by the program. The lesson plans for the experimental group were prepared by the researcher in accordance with the expert opinion. In the research, the data obtained from the effective citizenship scale and student achievement tests were used in the research and also, the opinions of the students about creative drama were learned. Findings obtained from the research results; The use of creative drama as a method in Human Rights, Citizenship and Democracy course has a positive effect on the success of the course and the permanence of the knowledge learned.
