The effect of creative writing technique on 4th grade students' writing motivation and development of their creative writing skills

This study was carried out with a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test, post-test control group, in order to reveal the effects of educational practices based on creative writing techniques on primary school students' writing motivation and creative writing skills. The study was carried out with a total of 40 students, 20 in each of the experimental group and control group, studying in two 4th grades in a primary school in Sapanca district of Sakarya province. In this study, the Writing Motivation Scale developed by Öztürk (2013) was used to determine students' writing motivation levels, and the Creative Writing Products Evaluation Scale developed by Susar Kırmızı and Beydemir (2010) was used to determine students' levels of creative writing skills. In this study, it was found that the creative writing technique had a positive impact on students' writing motivation and the development of their creative writing skills.
