Investigation of fresh fruit and vegetable export supply chain producer-exporter relations: the case of Antalya province

The aim of the study is to examine the producer-exporter relationship in the fresh fruit and vegetable export supply chain of Antalya. For this purpose, the three most important products (tomatoes, peppers, oranges) in terms of value and quantity in exports that will represent the fresh fruit and vegetable sector exported from Antalya were included in the study. The main material of the study was the primary data obtained from the interviews with companies that export fresh fruits and vegetables in the provinces of Antalya, Central, Serik, Finike and Kumluca, actors and producers who play a role in supplying products to companies. The data used in the research were provided in November 2017 and March 2018. The data obtained as a result of the interviews were analyzed using the qualitative data analysis method. Pajek package program was used in qualitative data analysis. Within the scope of the research, the main target determined for the solution of the existing problems detected in supply chain management and for the better operation of the system; In the supply chain management, where fresh fruits and vegetables are exported, mutual evaluation of the relations between the producer and the exporter, and modeling the supply chain that can actively operate with the network analysis method. In this context, 30 export companies, 23 brokers, 2 traders and 52 manufacturers were interviewed in the study. Interviews were conducted according to case studies, which are among qualitative data analysis methods. The supply chain model has been developed by analyzing the data obtained from the interviews with network analysis. As a result of negotiations with firms exporting to Serik, Finike and Kumluca districts of Antalya province and other actors; from the producer, broker, broker, exporter of the tomato and pepper export supply chain in this region; It is determined that the company, which is a manufacturer and exporter company, exports its own production and the products it supplies from other brokers and sends the product directly from the manufacturer to the exporter.
