Nihat Kaya with life and artistic personality

It is thought that Traditional Turkish Folk Music is a cultural element that tells the various emotions of the Turkish people (love, affection, expatriate, heroism, etc.) and it has great importance in this sense. It is known that various studies have been carried out to promote, preserve and transfer this valuable cultural heritage to future generations. It is thought that Nihat Kaya is one of the personalities who shed light on folk music with his works in this field. Also, his life, personality and the analysis of his works have great importance. This research is descriptive and it is aimed to make due diligence. During the research process, digital and written sources were searched in order to determine the Works compiled by Kaya and recorded in TRT Turkish folk Music repertoire. In addition, personal interviews were conducted with Kaya and his close acquaintances, and sensitivity was given to Express the researc more clearly. In this process, the compilations which were found to belong to the artist and registered in the TRT repertoire were subjected to a detailed examination through content analysis. As a result of the researches, various tables were created and interpreted in order to understand the data more easily. According to the research, it is concluded that Nihat Kaya is a good example to the society with his life, artistic personality and compiler characteristics and he has made significant contributions to the promotion of Traditional Turkish Folk Music and to transfer it to future generations. In addition, it is seen that the Works recorded in TRT Turkish Folk Music repertoire are composed of works with a lot of makam series although the hüseyni makam series is predominantly. It is concluded that the nine-time procedures are the majority, the compilations are generally from Soma district of Manisa province, the Works contain a wide variety of genres and the majority of them include "La" deciduous Works.
