Research of Yaşar Kemal's works in terms of values education

Our values have an important place in shaping our ties with individuals and society in our social life from past to present. Especially in recent years, with the Ministry of National Education's inclusion in the curriculum, it has become one of the issues that are especially emphasized in our education life. The aim of this study; The aim of this study is to examine the ten root values included in our Primary Education Curriculum, which has been emphasized in all disciplines in recent years and published by the Ministry of National Education Board of Education and Discipline, through the works of Yaşar Kemal, one of the literary texts. In Yaşar Kemal's works, the ten basic values in our Primary Education Curriculum and how often these basic values are used in the work, in what ways the values are handled and defined in the works. This study was carried out using the document analysis method, one of the qualitative research approaches. Yaşar Kemal's five novels that are the subject of the research; The Legend of Mount Ararat, Binboğalar, Çakırcalı Efe, Three Anatolian Legends, İnce Memed, the first book of the series are discussed. These works were examined on the basis of ten root values (justice, friendship, honesty, self-control, patience, respect, love, responsibility, patriotism, benevolence) included in the Education Programs published by the Ministry of National Education Board of Education and Discipline in 2018. The study was first started by determining the purpose and the necessary research was carried out by scanning the literature. In line with our aim, the previous studies have been examined in depth and the resources that will be needed have been reached in line with the possibilities. The works written by Yaşar Kemal, which will be examined, were obtained by choosing Yapı Kredi Publications. Here, not all of Yaşar Kemal's works are discussed, but his widely read works are subject to the research by adhering to the number of pages. As a result of the study; When the results of Yaşar Kemal's novels examined in terms of value findings are examined, a total of 188 in the novel "Ağrı Dağı Legend", a total of 333 in the novel "Binboğalar Legend", a total of 225 in the novel "Çakırcalı Efe", 525 in the novel "İnce Memed 1", "Three A total of 292 values were determined in the novel "Anatolian Legend".
