The syntax in Yaşar Kemal's novel Tek Kanatli Bir Kuş

Language is a fundamental social phenomenon that allows individuals to understand their world and share their feelings with others. Through language, people pass on the cultural codes, historical experiences and collective memory of their society to next generations. One of the most important linguistic units through which this transmission takes place is the sentence. As one of the main subjects of grammar, sentence structure directly affects the semantic organization and expressive power of a languageIn this study, Yaşar Kemal's novel Tek Kanatlı Bir Kuş is examined from a syntactic perspective in order to contribute to studies on Turkish sentence structure. Regarded as the voice of the Anatolian people, Yaşar Kemal uses Turkish in an exceptionally creative, rich, and vivid way, developing a distinctive narrative style by blending folk expressions with a universal literary language. In this respect, the author's language shows a strong expressive power at both national and international levels.In the thesis, the sentence structures, sentence types, and modes of expression used in the novel are analyzed, and the linguistic and stylistic features of the work are revealed. The study consists of four main sections: an introduction, sentences and sentence types, sentence analyses, and a conclusion and evaluation. The introduction presents information on Yaşar Kemal's life, literary personality, and works; the first chapter focuses on sentences and sentence types; the second chapter includes sentence analyses; and the final chapter is devoted to the conclusion and evaluation. In each section, the views of linguists related to the subject are discussed. The opinions and evaluations obtained from the analysis are presented in the conclusion and evaluation section, where numerical data and graphical representations are also included. The sources consulted throughout the study are listed in the final section titled "References."By examining Tek Kanatlı Bir Kuş in terms of sentence structure, this study highlights Yaşar Kemal's mastery of language and the expressive power of Turkish, while offering evaluations of the sentence types employed by the author.
