Yavuz Abadan (his life-ideas-works)

Yavuz Abadan has left his mark on Turkish academia both with his studies and the students he has trained. Abadan, who had to face various difficulties throughout his life, did not compromise his own truths and principles even in the most difficult and hopeless moments. Abadan, who put the Turkish Revolution at the center of his life, defended these revolutions in all his works and reflected them in his works. We have the opportunity to examine Yavuz Abadan's life from many different aspects. Abadan's political life started with his membership to the Republican People's Party and extended to his term as Eskişehir deputy for the seventh term in 1943. The positions Abadan held and the commissions he served on during this time show how hard he worked for the Turkish people in politics. However, even though Abadan was a candidate in the elections of 1946, he was not elected, but he could not break away from politics. As a matter of fact, when Abadan could not achieve what he wanted in politics, he returned to his academic studies. Abadan's academic studies, which have an important place in the world of ideas, offer us a broad perspective in his columns, conferences, books and articles. Yavuz Abadan, who trained many students in the academy, whose names we will hear a lot in the future, has been an administrator in important institutions such as the Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences and the director of the Turkish Revolution History Institute. Abadan became a highly recognized and respected academic both in Turkey and abroad. In this context, in 1953, he collaborated with the United Nations to establish the Institute of Turkish and Middle Eastern Public Administration under the Faculty of Political Sciences at Ankara University.
