The comparison of Turkish curriculas of 1982 and 2005 in terms of reaching goals in writing education

In this experimental study; Turkish currıculas of 1982 and 2005 were compared in terms of reaching goals in writing education.In this study answers to the following questions were searched:How does the writing education given according to 1982 Turkish currıcula improve the writing skills of eight grade students?How does the writing education given according to 2005 Turkish currıcula improve the writing skills of eight grade students?Is there a significant difference between the 2005 Turkish currıcula and 1982 Turkish program in reaching goals in writing education given to eight grade students?This study was conducted in the second semester of the 2007-2008 education year with eigth grade students from Gazi Paşa Elementary School and Milli Egemenlik Elementary School, both located in Bolu city center. The experiment group consisted of 25 students from Gazi Paşa Elementary School, and the control group consisted of 25 students from Milli Egemenlik Elementary school. To remove the undesired effects from the study results, students were examined in terms of attributes such as group size and socio-economic status, and teachers were examined in terms of attributes such as seniority, gender and age, and two sample groups were formed.In this experiment, ?experiment design with pre test- post test control groups? was used. The students were evaluated in terms of their learning levels of writing skills. While 2005 Turkish currıcula was applied to the experiment group, the control group was continued with the 1982 Turkish currıcula.In the study, writing skills of the students was determined with composition writing. ?Writing Abitilies Test?, which was given to the students as pre test and post test was evaluated using ?Composition Evaluation Scale?. The obtained data were analyzed using the SPSS program.T-statistic was used for showing the equivalance of the groups and checking the assumptions of the study.Between both groups significant difference [t(48) = 3.428, p<.001] was observed in favor of control group according to writing skills.Key Words:Elemantary School Turkish Currıcula , writing skills, reaching goals
