Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to observe the relationship of a person's eating attitude with his seperation anxiety and adult seperation anxiety and to analyze the effect of the sociodemographic characteristics on this data. The universe of this research involves individuals who are 18 years and over. 384 participants ( 293 female and 91 male ) took part in the study. Research data was collected in the year 2020 covering T.C.Demiroğlu Bilim University students and Turkey in general, via Internet on the on-line research platform using Snowball Sampling. For data collection purpose, in addition to the Personal Information Form developed by the researchers, Eating Attitude Test (EAT), Separation Anxiety Symptom Inventory (SASI), and Adult Separation Anxiety Inventory (ASAI) were used. At the data collection phase, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis test and Spearman's correlation coefficient were used. When the findings of this research are analyzed, it's determined that there is a relation between separation anxiety and adult separation anxiety and it's also determined that both effected eating attitude. Additionally, it's also determined that the eating attitude, separation anxiety and adult separation anxiety are effected by age (except EAT), gender (only for EAT and SASI "Separation Anxiety" subscale), marital status (except EAT) and education level (except SASI"Separation Anxiety" subscale and except ASAQ) of the individuals. It's adviced to increase the number of researches on this subject. Also, to increase the awareness of the individuals, it's quite important to organize seminars in the corporations and institutions on this subject for a healthier generation.
