Özet (EN)
The aim of this research is to examine the relationship between painting and music, the methods used by artists who paint music, and to conduct application studies in this context. Although art history traces the relationship between painting and music to Aristotle, the most important theoretical studies were carried out by Kandisnsky and Klee. The most important text of these studies is Kandinsky's book On Spirituality in Art. In this work, Kandinsky makes very important discussions about the relationship between painting and music. One of the most important discussions is that each note can correspond to a color. Apart from his theoretical discussions, Kandinsky is also important in terms of working with his paintings, which we can describe as depicting music. After Kandinsky's works, theoretical discussions on the relationship between painting and music increased significantly, and artists depicting music carried out application studies with different techniques and methods. II of the study. Section; theoretical discussions of the relationship between painting and music by philosophers and scientists; It includes artists who stand out with their works in the context of the relationship between music and painting and examples of their relevant works. III of the study. For the Department, it consists of application studies based on plastic interpretations of the compositions of Richard Wagner, Gustav Mahler, Arnold Schöenberg and Fazıl Say. Since this section is based on the description of personal studies, a change in language has been made and the researcher has been placed in the subject role. Since using the third person pronoun would create an objective tone for this study, it would be a problem for the purpose of the study and would negatively affect the explanations, the first person pronoun was used.
