Özet (EN)
Art practices, which are one of the major components to understand the history of humanity, were used, studied and analyzed in a comprehensive way to reveal historical information. In Turkey, researches on new media art are in its infancy both theoretically and practically although art literature and the history of art goes back a long way. This Master's thesis aims to reveal a definition on new media art and discuss the practices of new media art by means of the comments made by the artists well accepted with their own artistic works in Turkey. In this thesis, semi-structured interview technique as a qualitative research method was used in order to find and reveal the answer of the research question on "How do New media technologies transform the art, the artist, the work of art, the exposition practices?" In this thesis as carried out with semi-structured interview technique, 25 questions regarding the practices of "the art, the artist, the work, the exposition" were asked to 4 artists well accepted as the pioneers of new media art in Turkey. The data collected within the interviews were analyzed by using descriptive analysis. Consequently, it is seen that the meaning of "new" differs from an artist to the other one in accordance with their own artistic works and the process they are involved in.
