Abstract (EN)

ferentferrocene-basediridium (III) -phosphinitecomplexes were tested. DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1- picrylhydrazyl) freeradicalscavenging, metal chelation and ironreducingpoweractivities were studied to determine the antioxidantactivities of the complexes. Complex 2 exhibited the highestradicalscavenging activity (67.5 ± 2.24%) and ironchelating activity (74.6 ± 1.53%) at a concentration of 200.0 mg L-1 .It was determined that complex 1 has the bestreducingpower activity. Inaddition, the antimicrobialactivities of the complexes were examined by agar disk diffusionmethodusingthree Gram + and threeGram - bacteria. It was determined that the iridiumcomplexesshowedbetter activity against Gram + bacteria. It was observed that the complexesformed an inhibitionzone in the range of 8-15 mm against Gram + bacteria and 0-13 mm againstGram-bacteria. Calfthymus DNA (CT-DNA) was used to determine the DNA binding activity of the complexes and pBR 322 plasmid DNA was used to determine the DNA cleavage activity. DNA agarose gel electrophoresismethod was used to determine bothactivities. It was determined that all of the complexestested had DNA binding activity, but complexes 1, 2 and 8 had better activity. When the DNA cleavage activity of the complexes was examined, it was determined that all the testedcomplexescausedcleavage in the singlechain of DNA.
