The best suitable decision making of product design with TRIZ and AHP

Energy is one of the most important and essential needs of humanity. Alternative energy sources are important in terms of foreign energy dependent countries like Turkey for today and in the future. Biodiesel is an alternative fuel that is produced from alternative sources. But, a number of studies have showed problems with biodiesel during new product development or product design. Theory of Intentive Problems Solving (TRIZ) could be one of the methods that are used to solve these problems.In this study, the highest degree of importance level of one of the alternative fuel of biodiesel fuel properties? was determined with Analytic Hierarchy Process. Then the most significant property was assessed with Contradictions Matrix. In order to solve the problem, four engineering parameters were identified. Different additives with different rates were used in order to improve the fuel properties of biodiesel. Then, regression analysis was performed using SPSS software to the obtained results. Formulas derived from regression analysis with the weighted goal programming, were used to meet demands of manager.
