Understanding the habitus of news production on local television: The case of Şanlıurfa

In the study, an evaluation was made on the effects of journalists working on television channels broadcasting in Şanlıurfa and how intensively they use their cultural capital while producing the news. The universe of the research consists of news center director, editor, reporter and cameramen working on television channels broadcasting in Şanlıurfa. While conducting this research, information was first collected about local television channels broadcasting in Şanlıurfa. This information is collected Turkey's first local television channel, the main news bulletins of each channel awareness that it is more comprehensive and important of our thesis in this direction, knowing that from Şanlıurfa he held what at the forefront of television channels monitored for about two months at regular intervals and have information about this sense channels It was kindly. Sample; Based on qualitative research methodology and observation, the study consisted of a total of 15 people consisting of news center director, editor, reporter and cameramen working on television channels broadcasting in Şanlıurfa. In the research, journalists were interviewed one-to-one and asked questions about journalism profession and recorded with sound recording. The interviews were related to the topic of the research and took place in the analysis section. As a result of the research; 1. It was observed that news center managers, editors, reporters and cameramen who worked in news production produced news based on their own stories and wanted to create news content that would not harm the city in which they lived. 2. It was observed that the people working in the television channels broadcasting in Şanlıurfa mostly started this profession on the occasion of someone. 3. Most of the journalists who participated in the study wanted to produce news that contribute to the promotion of the city and prioritized the news, and the fact that the journalism profession behaved like a journalist on the website or social media accounts of non-journalists by some citizens was oblivious. 4. It was observed that the journalists participating in the research were in a good attitude towards the local characteristics and this was reflected in the news content and the answers given to the questions asked during the interviews.
