Abstract (EN)
Archaeological findings, which strengthen the bond between the past and the present, are documents that provide information about the lifestyles, economic and socio-cultural characteristics of past civilizations and are cultural assets that we must protect for future generations. It is an important requirement for these cultural assets to be transferred to the future with the conservation decisions taken within the scope of certain archaeological laws. Findings of archaeological value are both exhibited and protected in museums when they are portable. However, not every finding (especially architectural ones) is portable. In this case, the necessity of preserving the archaeological heritage in-situ arises. In some cities built on top of each other in the same geographical region that has hosted different civilizations throughout its historical process, there are many cultural assets both underground and above ground. The above-ground ruins in such urban centers are integrated with modern life. However, underground cultural assets are waiting to be found. Antalya Kaleiçi, which is urban and is located in the 3rd Degree Archaeological Site, is one of these settlements where traditional urban texture and archaeological heritage coexist. Kaleiçi, a multi-layered city, has surviving fortifications and bastions. In addition, archaeological findings emerge during controlled construction. It is aimed to unearth and protect the archaeological values that may be found under the ground in these areas. The archaeological findings on which construction is allowed are important both in terms of reaching the cultural heritage and making the area meaningful. Archaeological architectural ruins unearthed during construction in cities should be protected by a cover system or by taking them into a closed space. In this study, the effects of archaeological and findings and fortification walls on shaping the space were examined. For this purpose, a total of fourteen structures related to the archaeological findings and fortification walls were selected in Antalya Kaleiçi, and identification and spatial analyzes were carried out. The study will make important theoretical and practical contributions to the definition and scope of the archaeological site, as well as to the design process in the transformation of archaeological findings and fortification walls into archaeological sites.
