Investigation of local, standard and hybrid peppers (Capsicum annuum L.) for yield and quality features

There are four local pepper populations that have been produced and consumed in the city of Aydin and that some morphological, pomological and phytochemical properties of these peppers were investigated to compare the standard and hybrid pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) varieties available on the market. The highest yield was reached in Bozdoğan population with 3.1 tons, while the lowest yield was obtained from Hybrid variety with 2.1 tons. In terms of the number of seeds per fruit, the Çiftlik population was ranked first with 89 seeds while the lowest value was observed in hybrid varieties with 52 seeds. Çiftlik pepper (6.1) gives the best results as the value of SÇKM, the lowest dry matter amount was obtained in the Hybrid variety (5.5). And the fruit tickness measured as 2.7 mm on Hybrid variety while thinnest measured on Bozdogan population by 2.2 mm. The day until the first harvest was observed in Hybrid variety with 45 days at the earliest and in the Çiftlik population with 59 days at the latest. Local Yenipazar population has been stands out in terms of the amount of phenolic substances in fresh peppers (Catechin 59.6 mg / kg, Syringic 2.4 mg / kg, Ferulic 4.2 mg / kg, quercetin 3.1 mg / kg) and Bozdoğan has been stands out populations (Protocatechuic 9. 5 mg / kg, Vanillic 6.5 mg / kg, Caffeic 5 mg / kg, Rosmarinic 30.3 mg / kg). In terms of the amount of phenolic substances in dry pepper Çiftlik population (Vanillic 119.6 mg / kg),Yenipazar (Catechin 447.4 mg / kg) and Bozdoğan population (protocatechuic 30.8 mg / kg, Caffeic 264.1 mg / kg, Sinapic 138 mg / kg, Rosmarinic 504.1 mg / kg) has been standed out.
