Abstract (EN)

In this study, the more effective usability of the water to be obtained by rain harvesting from the impermeable surfaces in the city in the design and management of urban green areas was examined in the example of Dikmen Stream basin in Ankara's Çankaya District. It has been determined that 1.542.220 m3 of water can be harvested from all impermeable surfaces in the basin and 31.993 m3 of water can be harvested from Dikmen Valley stages. It has been determined that the seasonal irrigation water requirement of the green areas in the valley stages is 414 thousand m³. It has been calculated that the seasonal irrigation water demanded from ASKİ is 543 thousand m³ on average and the cost is approximately 2 million TL It has been determined that 80% of the water needed for irrigation of all green areas in the valley stages is used in grass areas. Only 26% of the potential water to be collected from Dikmen Creek Basin can meet the irrigation needs of all green areas in the valley stages. Valley III. In the herbal landscape project implemented in the first step, it was determined that 40% of the leafy trees used, 12% of the coniferous trees and 21% of the plants in the shrub group consisted of plants not included in the ABB specification. As a result, it is important to include a design in accordance with the xeric landscape principles in the green area facility of the IV. and V. Stages, which will be implemented as a continuation of Dikmen Valley, and the planning of the infrastructure preparation suitable for rain harvesting, in terms of the effective use of water in the design and management of the green area at the city scale.
