Abstract (EN)

The study area is located in the Yeşilova (Burdur) ophiolite within the Marmaris (Muğla) peridotites. The Yeşilova ophiolite consists of ultramafic-mafic rocks and diabase dikes. The aim of this thesis is to determine the petrographic, petrological and petrogenetic characteristics of ultramafic and mafic rocks and the dikes cutting these rocks in Salda - Düden - Doğanbaba villages in Yeşilova (Burdur). This thesis will be the first detailed study on diabase dikes in the Yeşilova ophiolite. The ultramafic - mafic rocks in the study area mostly show alteration. According to field work and petrographic analyses of the ultramafic - mafic rocks and dikes, the main rocks are peridotite, gabbro, serpentinite, and the dikes were diabase in compositions. As a result of XRD and SEM analyzes, primary and secondary minerals in all the rocks are described. According to these results, olivines, which are primary minerals, are generally forsterite; clinopyroxenes are augite and diopside; plagioclases are composed of labradorite; and magnetite, chromite, spinel, rutile, titanite and zircon as accessory minerals. Secondary minerals are generally lizardite, clinochlore, clinozoisite, prehnite and calcite. According to the results of geochemical analysis, the ultramafic-mafic host rocks are peridotitic and dikes are gabbroic in composition. According to the AFM diagram, both host rocks and dikes show tholeiitic characteristics. In the chondrite-normalized multi trace element diagrams, the host and dike samples generally show a slightly enrichment in LIL (Rb, Ba, K, Sr, Eu) elements and depletion in HFS elements (Th, U, Ce, Ta). According to petrogenetic studies, it can be said that both host rocks and diabase dikes are derived from a tholeiitic magma formed in the suprra-subduction zone (SSZ).
