Evaluation of the relationship between diet therapy and quality of life in adults

Abstract (EN)
Aim: Our research was carried out in order to evaluate the effect of individual diet programs on the quality of life of 200 volunteer participants between the ages of 18-64 who came to the Derik State Hospital Diet Polyclinic. Material and Method: A questionnaire including general questions, anthropometric measurements and the WHOQOL-Bref quality of life scale was applied to the individuals before the diet treatment. After 2 months of treatment, the same questionnaire was applied once again and the relationship between body mass index (BMI) and quality of life scores before and after the diet treatment was both dimensional and dimensional. It was evaluated as the mean scores as well as the total quality of life score average. Dimensions were evaluated out of 100 points and total quality of life score was evaluated out of 400 points. Results: In our research, there was an increase in the spiritual area the least in terms of dimensions. At the end of the study, it was concluded that there is a significant relationship between diet therapy and quality of life. It is one of the main strategic goals of public health to make the society and individuals understand the importance of diet therapy in increasing the quality of life of the society. Conclusion: Considering the distribution of individuals by gender and the overall situation, significant changes were noted in BMI level and quality of life scores. While the pre-treatment BMI level of female individuals was 29.4, it decreased to 26.3. While the BMI level of male individuals was 26.88, it decreased to 25.3. The average BMI level decreased from 28.2 to 25.9. Quality of life scores, on the other hand, in terms of dimensions, increase in bodily area score by 14.9 in general; social domain score increase was 10.6, spiritual domain score increase was 16.9, environmental domain score increase was 3.6 points.
