Abstract (EN)
The aim of this thesis is; It is the determination of selected anaerobic power characteristics of adult men and women and their comparison according to gender variable. With the completion of the thesis; It is aimed to indirectly reveal whether the differences in strength and power between men and women are more affected by genetic factors or gender factors. A total of 208 people, 103 women and 105 men aged between 18-30, participated in the study. Takei (Japan) brand jumpmeter was used as a data collection tool to determine the vertical jump distance. Each measurement was repeated twice and a 3-minute rest period was given between measurements. Harman Formula was used to determine anaerobic power. In analyzing the data; Descriptive statistical analyzes in the SPSS (Ver.15) analysis program were used. Since it was understood that the data were normally distributed as a result of the Shapiro Wilk Test, parametric tests were preferred for comparison analyses. "Independent Sample t Test" was used for comparisons between groups. The error level "α" was accepted as 0.05. When the data obtained is examined; There is a statistically significant difference in favor of men between male and female groups in terms of all variables except relative peak power. When the relative peak power results are examined, although the values of the female group were higher than those of the male group, the difference was statistically insignificant. Considering the results obtained in this study; when the body mass difference between men and women is eliminated, it can be said that both genders have similar anaerobic power characteristics and the power difference between the genders may be largely due to the body mass difference between the genders.
