Abstract (EN)

In this study, the Covid-19 epidemic, which is effective on a global scale, created fear on individuals. The effects of outcomes such as anxiety, stress, depression and death rates in the society were investigated in this study. The relationship between somatization disorder, Prefrontal Cortex and Covid-19 was analyzed. Relational screening model was used in this study. A total of 378 participants, 227 women and 151 men, participated in the study. For the purpose of the study, the Coronavirus Fear Scale, Prefrontal Cortex Functions Scale and Psychological Symptom Screening tests were used. As a result of the study, a significant difference was found between the fear of coronavirus scale and prefrontal cortex functions and psychological symptom screening. It was observed that fear of coronavirus affects prefrontal cortex functions negatively and psychological symptom screening test scores positively. A significant relationship was found between individuals' gender, age and marital status, prefrontal cortex functions, and screening for psychological symptoms. Prefrontal cortex functions of female individuals and psychological symptom screening total scores of male individuals were higher. The coronavirus fear levels and psychological symptom screening total scores of individuals aged 56 and over were higher compared to other age groups. The total scores of prefrontal cortex functions of individuals aged 26-35 were higher than those of other age groups. The coronavirus fear levels and psychological symptom screening total scores of married individuals were higher than those of single individuals. The total scores of prefrontal cortex functions of single individuals were higher than those of married individuals. Results were discussed with the relevant studies in literatüre.
