Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to measure whether there is a significant relationship between early maladaptive schemas and attachment styles of adults. The study was conducted with a total of 206 people between the ages of 18-65 living in Istanbul. Participants were reached by convenience sampling method. "Young Schema Scale Short Form-3 scale" adapted into Turkish by Gonca Soygüt et al. (2009) and 'Three-Dimensional Attachment Styles' scale developed by Evren Erzen (2016) were used to collect the data. SPSS-30 statistical program was used to analyze the data. The findings obtained were analyzed by correlation and variance analysis. As a result of the analysis, it was found that there was a positive and significant relationship between anxious and avoidant attachment styles and early maladaptive schemas. In addition, significant differences were found between some sociodemographic variables and some schema sub-dimensions. The results of the study show that maladaptive schemas, which develop in childhood and maintain their influence throughout life, significantly affect the attachment styles of individuals in the relationships they establish in adulthood.
