Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to evaluate the symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity and generalized anxiety disorder observed in adulthood. In this context, we evaluated the relationship between the symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity and generalized anxiety disorder observed in adulthood based on the perceived parental relationship and metacognitive awareness factors. The research sample consists of 501 teacher candidates from different departments studying at Denizli Pamukkale University Faculty of Education. The "Adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Self-report Scale (ASRS) ", "Generalized Anxiety Disorder test-7" "Perceived Parental Relationship Attitude Perception Scale" and "Metacognitive Awareness Inventory" were used for data collection. The personal information form created by the researcher was used to determine the demographic data of the participants. As a result of the study, the average attention-deficit score was found to be 20.77, with the average hyperactivity score as 20.78. It has been observed that those studying in the department of social sciences teaching are more inclined to consider that they have attention deficiency than those studying in the mathematics teaching department. The generalized anxiety disorder scores of those studying in classroom teaching and social sciences teaching were found to be significantly higher than those studying in the departments of computer and instructional technologies and preschool teaching. The debugging subscale of metacognitive awareness scores of those studying in the department of computer and instructional technologies were found to be significantly higher than those studying in preschool teaching. In addition, the scores of fourth-graders in the debugging subscale were found to be significantly higher than those in the first grade. As a result of the correlation analyses, a very weak positive correlation was found between the operational knowledge subscale of the hyperactivity and generalized anxiety, attention deficit, and metacognitive awareness inventory. With the cognitive-knowledge subscale, a very weak negative correlation was found between the perception of complacent, protective, demographic maternal attitude, while a very weak positive correlation was found between the protective paternal attitude. It has been observed with the cognitive regulation subscale that there is a very weak negative correlation relationship between the complacent, protective maternal attitude. Using the metacognitive awareness inventory, a very weak negative correlation was found between the complacent and demographic maternal attitude. Keywords: attention deficit hyperactivity, generalized anxiety disorder, perceived parental relationship, metacognitive awareness
