Dark triad personality traits consist of narcissism, psychopathy and machiavellianism. The dark personality, consists of evil personality traits. These individuals are prone to cheating, deception and manipulation. In this study, the role of early maladaptive schemas in dark triad personality traits is examined. The sample of the study consists of 635 participants between the ages of 18-55. While collecting the data, the Young Schema Scale-Short Form 3 (YSÖ-SF 3), the Short Dark Triad Scale (SD3-T) and the personal information form containing the demographic variables of the research were used. The predictive correlation design was used in the study. When the correlation level was found to be significant, regression analysis was used. When the relationships between early maladaptive schemas and the dark triad were examined in the study, significant relationships were found. Early maladaptive schemas were found to be a predictor of dark triad personality. It was found that 14 schema dimensions explained narcissism by %29, psychopathyby %18, machiavellian by %19. In particular, entitlement/ insufficient self control and unrelenting standards schmemas were found to be associated with narcisism, psychopathy and machiavellianism. As a result of the discussion of the research results with other studies in the field, it was concluded that they were consistent. Suggestions and evaluations related to the research were made.
