Through their lives people's health can deteriorate, and they can need medical assistance. In these cases ıntensive care units' physical conditions may be very stressful for families. Especially it is very hard to bear the situation for the relatives who have a patient in bad health condition at the intensive care unit. When we look at the literature we can see that there is not enough study which focuses on the emotional stress and anger levels of relatives of the patients who hospitalized in intensive care. The aim of this study is determining the anger level of Relatives of patients in intensive care unit in the hospital environment, and to evaluate if they do express their anger correctly or not. The universe of the study consists relatives of patients, hospitalized at the intensive care unit at the Cukurova Dr. Aşkım Tüfekçi Hospital. The sampling of the study consists of 211 relatives of patients, hospitalized at the intensive care unit, who were over 18 years of age, and who have no difficulty in communication and have no mental insufficiency, who speak Turkish and who agree to participate study. The Personal Information Form, and Constant Anger/ Anger Method Scale were used to in the collection of the data. Datas were collected through face-to-face interviews. When we evaluate the anger of the patients' relatives because of their acute or chronic disease; the anger/inside subscale point of relatives who have a patient who has an acute condition in intensive care units are significantly higher than the relatives who has a patient who has a chronical disease.(Z=-2,059; p=0,040) Male relatives who participate the study have significantly higher constant rage subscale points than the female relatives who participate the study.(Z=-3,859; p<0,001) Subscale points of constant rage of Patients' relatives who think they do not have enough information about their illnesses is significantly higher than the ones who have enough information.(Z=-4,998; p<0,001) As a result of this study, should be provided the ability to establish healthy communication between patient relatives and health workers and through various trainings should be avoided problems experienced in intensive care units, so should be developed anger control of patient relatives in hospital environment.
