The tourism sector has an important position for the countries with its economic and social benefits. The problem of poverty, which is a problem in developing and undeveloped countries, can be solved by the economic benefits of tourism. While providing a solution, it is necessary to ensure the sustainability of the existing touristic values and the environment. In this study, the use of the tourism sector as a tool to struggle poverty and the effect of poor tourism on sustainable development and sustainable tourism are examined. In this study, one of the research techniques of quantitative method, survey technique was applied and 186 participants from Köyceğiz district of Muğla province were included in the study by conducting Sustainable Tourism Attitude Scale (SUS-TAS). The study is expected to contribute to the literature on poor tourism, sustainable development and tourism. Keywords: Poverty, Pro-poor Tourism, Sustainable Development, Sustainable Tourism
