Abstract (EN)
This study aims at investigating the leadership approaches with regard to the attitudes and behaviours of healthcare sector managers and find out whether those leadership approaches have an impact on employee silence. This study is composed of four main sections. In the first section, general overview of the health sector is given, healthcare services and healthcare organizations is defined and hospital management and organizational structure is explained. In the second section, definitions of the organizational silence concept made by different researchers is provided and the dimensions of the concept is examined in detail. This section also covers issues such as the factors leading to the formation of silence in organizations, theories and types of organizational silence. Third section focuses on the leadership concept and defines leadership, and explains the power resources of leadership, leadership approaches and leadership behaviours. Forth section includes a field research on the impact of leadership behaviours in healthcare sector on employee silence. Research data was collected from health sector employees in public, private, association and university hospitals, operating in Istanbul. This section explains the research objective, methodolgoy, model, hypothesis, population, sampling, data gathering tools and findings.
