Managerial competencies are especially concerned in todays complex business environment because managers are responsible for effective use of resources. Small business managers need to examine their leadership styles in order to improve personally and professionally. Managers possesing leadership qualities demonstrate better performance in the complex business environment than those lacking leadership qualities. Indeed managers without leadership qualities are removed out of the business system. Small and medium size businesses have been very crucial in terms of creation of jobs and economic efficiency. From this perspective, it is necessary that the managers of these enterprises provided with developmental opportunites such as education and training in leadership and communication. Without knowing their leadership styles, mangers of small and medium size enterprises would not be able to compete in the global marketplace. In this study, the relationship between small and medium size business managers; leadership style is analyzed as related to performance and job satisfaction. Survay developed for this purpose was administred to 105 smal and medium size enterprise managers in Adana province of Turkey. The findings indicated that there is significant a relationship between managers; leadership style, performance and job satisfaction.
