Abstract (EN)
The study was carried out in the trial areas of Yozgat Bozok University Agricultural Application and Research Center in Sorgun and Yerköy districts of Yozgat province, which have different altitudes. The morphological and chemical characteristics of 'Nero' and 'Viking' cultivars of black-fruited aronia (Aronia melanocarpa (Michx) Elliot), which were planted with 2-year-old scuba seedlings in 2024, were described. The phenological periods of the cultivars were determined at the locations. While no fruit could be taken from Sorgun location, fruit was taken from Yerköy location. In Yerköy location, the number of days from full bloom to harvest was determined as 115 days in 'Nero' and 119 days in 'Viking'. The plant morphological characteristics of the varieties were determined, and the highest plant height was determined in the Sorgun location. The highest average number of shoots in the plantation area was counted as 10.67±5.13 in the Viking in the Yerköy location. In leaf chlorophyll content (SPAD) measurements, the Nero was found to be higher than the others in the Sorgun location with 82.96±21.84. Leaf anthocyanin content (ACI) was measured higher in both varieties at the Yerköy location than at the Sorgun location. The diameter of annual shoots (mm) was measured from 5 cm and 50 cm above the soil level when the plants were in the dormant period, and the width of both varieties in Yerköy was found to be higher at 5 cm. In the measurements made at 50 cm, it was determined that there was no statistical difference between locations and cultivers. In the fruits harvested at the Yerköy location, the fruit width and length of the Viking were 7.88±1.05 mm and 7.60±0.96 mm, while the fruit width and length of the Nero were measured as 7.39±1.14 mm and 7.61±0.80 mm. As a result of vitamin C analysis, it was determined as 2397.24±29.7 mg.100g-1 in Viking and 3478.39±83.9 mg.100g-1 in Nero. Total phenolic substance amount was measured as 40.36±2.11 mg.100g-1 GAE in Viking and 26.85±2.79 mg.100g-1 GAE in Nero.
