Abstract (EN)

Fairy tales, as one of the significant genres of oral folk literature, are important narratives that encompass both tangible and intangible elements shaping a nation's cultural identity. Through fairy tales, national cultural elements are transmitted from generation to generation, societal values are preserved, and cultural memory is sustained. In this context, one of the fundamental objectives of the education system is to instill national cultural awareness in students and to support this through literary works. This study aims to analyze Yücel Feyzioğlu's fairy tale books within the framework of the "Our National Culture" theme in the 2019 Turkish Language Curriculum. The research was conducted using qualitative research methods, specifically document analysis and content analysis, and is limited to seven of Feyzioğlu's fairy tale books: Sihirli Limon, Sultan Süleyman, Her Şey Oyunla Başladı, Ayıkulak, Hıdırellez Geliyor, Lokman Hekim, and Keloğlan ile Kahkaha Hanım. The findings reveal that Feyzioğlu's fairy tales contain a wide range of national cultural elements and that these works can contribute to the transmission of cultural heritage in the educational process. Furthermore, they can be considered as supplementary resources in textbooks. The cultural components presented in the tales have been classified and evaluated in terms of their educational functions. It has been determined that the national cultural elements in these works can serve as a guide for parents and educators in the process of fostering national cultural consciousness.
