Abstract (EN)
In this study, the Düzce Melen Stream was examined according to the important research subject of recent years, which helps to determine the yield and functional characteristics of the streams, as well as the components of the stream metabolism. Research is important from the point of view of seeing and managing the quality of water resources in this watershed. At the same time, the study aims to identify the pollutant loads that may come to the sources of the studied stream, to reveal the quality of the stream source, to create data for future studies, it aims to develop a workable approach and guide decision-makers on what measures should be taken. Düzce Melen River at different points of the arm 10 "One-station Method" in a survey by applying 'gross primary production (GPP)', 'ecosystem respiration (ER)' and 'net ecosystem production (NEP)' values to different atmospheric shopping coefficient (K) according to the components of metabolism are summarized and statistically stream was finalized. The scope of this work selected for field studies in different locations, 10 July 2020 – September 2021 at least 2 days per month for 13 months between the dates of the water temperature at 5-minute intervals (Twater) and dissolved oxygen measurements using a device parameter and stream flow meter velocity, depth, and flow rate measurements were made. As a result of the field studies, 7 different methods were applied in the Rivermet © program with the data obtained and the calculation of the components of the metabolism of the stream was made. Based on the points studied, it was found that since the speed, depth and flow rate of the stream can constantly change, it also causes a change in the 'K' coefficient, and the 'K' coefficient is directly effective in calculating the components of the stream metabolism. Therefore, it is seen that there are increases and decreases in GPP, ER and NEP results according to environmental factors, time and location. According to the calculated data, the mean GPP/ER values were calculated to be the range of 0.04-0.47 grO2m-2day-1. Studies conducted show that the stream ecosystem is in a heterotrophic (GPP/ER <1) state.
