Low Back Pain in Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Faculty Of Medicine students evaluation of the effects of pain on daily life

Objective: In this study, it is aimed to show the effects of low back pain on daily life in Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Faculty of Medicine students by using the Oswestry Scale. Material and Methods: Our research was carried out as a single centered descriptive and cross sectional feature. The data were collected by sending an online questionnaire to 1109 students who were actively studying at the Faculty of Medicine of Bülent Ecevit University in Zonguldak between Dec 01/11/2022 and Dec 01/12/2022. There are 623 students who filled out the online survey form, which corresponds to approximately 56.17% of the world. In our study, the sociodemographic questionnaire and Oswestry Scale were applied to the participants. In the sociodemographic survey form, the age, gender, education, monthly income level of the person were questioned. The obtained findings were analyzed using appropriate statistical methods. The significance limit of the P value was accepted as values below 0.05. Findings: 95% of the participants are between the ages of 18-24 and 5% are between the ages of 25-34. 57.8% are female and 42.2% are male. 1 with 27.6%.in the classroom, 18% of 2.in the classroom, 10.4% of 3.in the classroom, 17% of 4.in the classroom, 17.3% of 5.in the classroom, 9.6% of 6.he continues to attend class. It is seen that 60.7% of the participants have monthly income below the minimum wage, 26.6% have minimum wage, 12.7% have double and above the minimum wage. Low back pain is not a major problem in the life of 72.1% of the participants, while 5% are severely or completely restricted. In our study, the effects of low back pain on daily life do not make a significant difference according to age and gender. The proportion of low back pain that affects daily life to an advanced degree is 3. 10.8% on grade level, 6. it was found to be 13.3% in the classroom and higher compared to other classes. It has been seen that this rate is 8.4% for those whose monthly income is at the minimum wage level and is higher than other income levels. Result: It was found that there was no statistically significant difference between the Oswestry Scale scores of the medical school students participating in our study according to age and gender; however, a significant difference was found according to the number of students in the class and their monthly income status. Dec. Accordingly, the Oswestry Scale score of Semester 3 and Semester 6 students was found to be significantly higher compared to Semester 1 and Semester 2 students. In addition, it was found that the Oswestry Scale scores of the participants whose monthly income was at the minimum wage level were higher than the other groups.
