Schiff bases are synthesised 1,2-bis (p-aminophenoxy) ethane with various aldehydes and their some transition metal complexes

Xlll SUMMARY In this study, N,N'-bis(4-methoxybenzylidene)-l^-bis(p-aminophenoxy)ethane (1), N^'-bis(cinnemaldehydene)-1^4>is(^aminophenoxy)ethane (2) and N,N'-bis(2- hydroxynaphthalm-l^arbardehydeneHs2-ta^ (3) Schiff bases were synthezized by reaction l,2-bis(p-aminophenoxy)ethane with various aromatic aldehydes in ethanol. Cu(E), Zn(II), Mn(II) and Co(III) complexes with Schiff bases were prepared in DMF. The structure of the ligands and their complexes were determined by elemental analyses, magnetic susseptibility, FITR, UV-vis, conductance measurements 'H-NMR and 13C-NMR spectral data.
