Abstract (EN)

It was aimed to examine the effects of self- myofascial release techniques on flexibility, strength and speed in 12-14 year old tennis players . The research group consists of 20 people from Göktürk tennis club athletes who participated in the research on a voluntary basis. Participants were randomly divided into two groups, experimental group and 10 control groups. In this study, research model with pre-test post-test control group was used. While the control group continued the normal tennis training program for 8 weeks, the experimental group applied myofascial release protocol 3 sessions a week for 8 weeks after warming up . The applications were carried out in the presence of a trainer. Were analyzed with IBMSPSS 26.0 package program. The dependent sample t-test was used to detect within-group differences, and the independent sample t-test was used to detect intergroup differences. According to the results of the research, a significant difference was found in favor of the experimental group in the upper extremity range of motion and flexibility scores between the post-test measurements of the experimental group and the control group (p<0.05). When comparing the pre-test and post-test scores of the experimental group , a significant difference was found in terms of development in the upper extremity range of motion, flexibility and upper extremity strength scores (p<0.05). In the speed test, there was no significant difference between the groups and within the group in the pre-test and post-test measurements.
