Provisions related to Diyarbakir State in MuhimmeRegisters numbered 130th, 31th, 132th and 133th [(GC. 1720-1726) – (HC.1133-1138)

Mühimme Registers are used for registration of domestic and foreign topics related to political, military, cultural, economical decisions discussed in the meeting of Imperial Council which is a high level decision making body in Ottoman Empire. These registers are first hand sources which give information about governing structure, social, economical, military field features in the centre and country organization of Ottoman Empire. Diyarbakır came under the domination of Ottoman Empire in Sultan Selim The Stern's period. In consequence of Ottoman Empire – Safavid Dynasty wars which occured in this period, Diyarbakır Governorate was also established, after Southeasteen Anatolia had been fall under the domination of Ottoman Empire. Correspondance traffic is very much between the centre and Diyarbakır Governorate which is a state in Ottoman Empire. In number 130, 131, 132 and 133 Mühimme registers which we made its transcription and consideration, these provisions which are written adressing Diyarbakır proves this situation. These registers belong to the Sultan Ahmed III (1703- 1730)' period and they are kept between 1720-1726. While the issues are rather about brigandage actions, security issues, protection of public in majority in the provisions which are sent to Diyarbakır Governorate in 130th Mühimme Register kept between 1720-1722, in 131th, 132th, 133th Mühimme registers which involves the years between 1722-1726, rather military topics are handled because of Ottoman Empire - Persia wars which started in 1722. A massive increase attracts the attention in the provisions sent from the centre to Diyarbakır in this period.
