Abstract (EN)

Although the court registers, which mark the beginning of the Ottoman State archive resources, function as a court book, they also contain essential information about the Ottoman people's social, economic, administrative, and ethnic structure. The court registers, in which copies of essential documents such as decrees, letters, and berats, administrative correspondence are recorded, are an indispensable resource, especially for the studies of social history, urban history, and the history of events in any period.. The beginning of the XVIIIth century is known as the "Tulip Era" in the Ottoman Empire. In this period, especially in the center, namely Istanbul, entertainment, pleasure-seeking, the consumption luxury increased. At the same time, the technological and military achievements of the Western World began to arouse curiosity, ambassadors were sent to European countries, and thus, innovation or renewal movements in the Ottoman Empire were triggered off. In this study, which we did as a master's thesis, we tried to shed light on the history of Rodoscuk, that is, Tekirdağ, between 1721-1724 by using the Rodoscuk Court Register numbered 1647 as the main source. We aimed to examine the effect of the Tulip Era in the Ottoman Empire on the social, cultural and economic life of Tekirdağ. Keywords: Ottoman, Tulıp Age, Court, XVIIIth Century, Tekirdağ
