Abstract (EN)

At the present time, Nanoparticles have various application areas. In this study, to distillate 17β-Estradiol that exists in environmental water as endocrine disrupters with high capacity and low costs, it is aimed to develop hydrophobic nanoparticles as alternative to the available methods and to find out the 17β-Estradiol distillation performance of the adsorbent. Poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate-methacryloyl amido phenylalanine) [poly (HEMA-MAPA)] nanoparticles were used as adsorbent. Poly (HEMA-MAPA) nanoparticles were produced via micro emulsion polymerization of HEMA and MAPA monomers in the aqueous distribution environment. Nanoparticles were characterized with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) techniques (FTIR). The dimension of the poly(HEMA-MAPA) nanoparticles that were used, were measured as 120-200 nm. Adsorbsion experiments were investigated in different enviromental conditions (17β-Estradiol, concentration, temperature, ionic strength) in the batch system. 17 β-estradiol adsorbsion capacty of poly(HEMA-MAPA) nanoparticles was found out as 98.4 mg/g. Adsorption-desorption cycle redone 10 times and an important decrease wasn't observed at the the adsorbtion capacity.
