Abstract (EN)
It is obvious that sports are not only physical but also psychologically important for human health. Psychology is closely associated with sports as well as with every field and affects the performance of the athlete. The other variables of my research, narcissism and empathy, are the branches of psychology that will be able to relate to sports. This study was carried out based on the assumption that athletes will know the relationship between narcissism and empathy levels. In this study, a relational survey model was used to examine the relationship between narcissism and empathy levels of athletes. The research was carried out in various sports halls with 203 people between the ages of 18 and 45. as a data collection tool, "sociodemographic data form", "athlete identity scale", "narcissistic admiration and competition", "empathy level determination scale" were used. Analysis of data was performed using SPSS 24, Pearson analysis, independent sample t test, variance analysis, Welch test. As a result of the study, it was determined that sports had a statistically weak relationship with narcissism and that the relationship with empathy variables was not statistically significant. As the sport increased last year, there was no decrease in narcissism demonstrators. According to the gender awareness, it was determined that men had more participation in sports. The marital status was not statistically correlated with the variable. In addition, it has been determined that individuals with high financial status are more involved in sports.
