Abstract (EN)

People have to meet their physiological needs such as nutrition, shelter, sleep and reproduction. Humans need other people to survive. Therefore, they lived in communities to ensure their own safety and to feed more easily. These communities formed states over time. Human beings have made marriages to continue their generation. Marriages form the family, families form the society, and society form the state. The Ottoman State is a state where people of different races gathered under a flag. The basis of this state is the concept of family. We will discuss concepts such as engagement, marriage, marriage contract, mahr, rights granted to women in the marriage process, divorce, which are the basic elements of family formation formed by the synthesis of Turkish-Islamic culture.
