Abstract (EN)
People have to meet their physiological needs such as nutrition, shelter, sleep and reproduction. Humans need other people to survive. Therefore, they lived in communities to ensure their own safety and to feed more easily. These communities formed states over time. Human beings have made marriages to continue their generation. Marriages form the family, families form the society, and society form the state. The Ottoman State is a state where people of different races gathered under a flag. The basis of this state is the concept of family. We will discuss concepts such as engagement, marriage, marriage contract, mahr, rights granted to women in the marriage process, divorce, which are the basic elements of family formation formed by the synthesis of Turkish-Islamic culture. "The family society creates the community state. " in the light of thought we aim to contribute to Ottoman Family Law and Social History researches with the data we obtained by examining the marriage contracts in the Trabzon Şeriyye Registiries numbered 1955-1957.
